Nashville vs LA Galaxy Preview:

After hosting Leo Messi’s Inter Miami midweek in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, Nashville are all set to welcome LA Galaxy in the MLS on matchday 3. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, Nashville haven’t looked in their element this campaign. The Geodis Park will see Nashville enter the contest against LA Galaxy in a hunt to secure their first win of the season in the MLS. Their lack of attacking intent has been the primary reason for them drawing games despite defending well.

In their midweek tie against Miami in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, Nashville improved their attack and scored two early goals. Unfortunately, a late goal from Luis Suarez denied them victory on the day as he equalized for Inter Miami. On Saturday, Nashville will look to build on their impressive performance against Inter Miami and beat LA Galaxy at Geodis Park.

Meanwhile, LA Galaxy will be in the visitors dressing room on Saturday. Galaxy cruised to a 3-1 victory last weekend against San Jose Earthquakes on Matchday. This season the club will aim to win the MLS and secure their place in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Despite a forgettable campaign last year, the team seems more united and refreshed this year around. Gaffer Greg Vanney seems confident of guiding the side to a better finish compared to last season. Galaxy will enter the contest against Nashville hoping to defeat them and continue their brilliant form.

The residents of Geodis Park replenished their squad this campaign with quite a few signings. Right back Julian Gaines arrived at the club in February on a free transfer bolstering the club’s defense. Winger Tyler Boyd also signed for Nashville in February and will definitely start against his previous club LA Galaxy on Saturday. Midfielder Amar Sejdic signed for Nashville on a free transfer and had a sensational outing against Inter Miami. Greg Vanney seems excited and looks eager to experiment with the midfielder given his adaptability. Nashville also procured the signature of Dru Yearwood from NY Red Bulls in the winter. However, while the signings have impressed, Nashville has already racked up a considerable injury list.

Midfielder Randall Leal sustained an injury in the first week of the campaign and is unlikely to return till the end of March. Striker Sam Surridge has started the season well, however he was dealt an injury blow at the end of February. He is recovering well, but is unlikely to return in time for LA Galaxy. Striker Hany Mukhtar also seemed to pick up a knock recently, but will return for the Galaxy tie.

LA Galaxy splurged big money in the transfer window as they signed Genk winger Joseph Paintsil. The winger has already shown the LA Galaxy loyalists glimpses of what he can do. The youngster was influential to Galaxy’s win over San Jose with a goal and assist. LA Galaxy also procured the signature of Gabriel Pec from Vasco Da Gama. Miki Yamane and John McCarthy too signed for Galaxy in the transfer window enabling LA Galaxy to increase their squad depth.

LA Galaxy will rue the absence of Jalen Neal on Saturday. The center-back was crucial to Galaxy last season but will miss quite a significant portion of the initial campaign of 2024 with an injury.
