WATCH: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp gives hilarious response regarding transfer interest in Sparta Prague players

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is known for his hilarious responses and reactions to questions in press conferences. The German was in character during the post-match interview after the 5-1 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

Jurgen Klopp’s tongue-in-cheek remark

Following the match, Klopp attended a press conference where he was asked several questions. One of the journalists asked the Liverpool boss whether he was impressed by any of Sparta Prague’s players. To this, the German delivered a typically direct and hilarious response.

Journalist: “Is there any player from the Sparta squad that you would want at Liverpool?”

Jurgen Klopp: “I retire in the summer. You want me to take them on holiday, or what?”

In his own cheeky way, Klopp reminded the journalist about his decision. He announced his retirement in a video released by Liverpool’s official website in January. This decision will bring an end to a highly-successful nine-year tenure at Anfield.

Can Liverpool give the German a fitting finale?

The Reds are well-placed to end the season with multiple trophies, having already won the Carabao Cup by defeating Chelsea 1-0 in the final. All the players and staff will look to give their all until the end of the season as one of the greatest managerial eras in the club’s history comes to an end.

Liverpool are first in the Premier League with 63 points from 27 games, ahead of Manchester City (62) and Arsenal (61). They have made it to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and will face arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on March 17.

The club can also aim for their first Europa League title under the German manager. Having defeated Sparta Prague 5-1 in the first leg of the round of 16, it is safe to say Klopp’s men have one foot in the quarter-finals. The second leg of the round of 16 will be played at Anfield on March 14.
