In 1998: Tim Howard was given his first shot in the professional football career by his former coach, Tim Mulqueen. The goalkeeping coach brought up Howard to MetroStars with him after the player played for North Jersey Imperials for one season. On his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut, the young goalie showed astounding performance in the final to help his team win 4-1 over Colorado by making five incredible saves under the bar.

In 2001: Howard continued his meteoric rise and made a whopping 146 saves throughout the season, winning the MLS Humanitarian of the Year Award. In the next season, he was named to the MLS Best XI.

In 2003: Following his dazzling display, Manchester United signed Tim Howard for £2.6 million in the middle of the 2003 season. In quick succession, he replaced Fabien Barthez as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. A year later, after a spell of poor and great performances, Howard went on to win the 2004 FA Cup title with the Red Devils.

In 2007: After the arrival of in-form Edwin van der Sar from Fulham, Howard was sent to Everton on a loan deal. Within one and half years, Tim Howard completed his 100th appearance for Everton across all competitions.

In 2011-12: Howard became one of the untouchable players at Goodison Park. He scored his first goal in his senior professional career in the 2010-11 Premier League season against Bolton Wanderers, having registered his name on the legendary list of the goalkeepers who had scored a goal in the English top flight.
