Milan claimed their fifth straight UEFA Champions League victory after defeating Girona 1-0 at the San Siro on Wednesday. This win made them return back to top eight of the competition. Rafael Leao’s close-range finish gave the Rossoneri a lead which eventually turned into a winner. During the game, the hosts struck the goal-frame twice during the first half.

In the second half, Girona grew in confidence but Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan stood as a wall behind the central defence. Bryan Gil thought he had scored an equaliser around the hour mark with a curler but was ruled offside.
