Jurgen Klopp Thrilled as Sharp Mohamed Salah Boosts Liverpool On and Off the Pitch
Liverpool visited the Gtech Community stadium today to play Brentford in the Premier League and have been buoyed by the return of their talismanic goal-scorer, Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian had sustained a muscle injury while on international duty with Egypt at the 2023 African Cup of Nations but returned to action against Brentford.
Salah marks his first return to Liverpool’s starting XI since 1 January, and it couldn’t have come sooner, as the Reds are looking to consolidate their position atop the Premier League table, with Manchester City and Arsenal breathing right below their neck.

Klopp, who will depart the club this summer, expressed his delight at having the key player back in the mix, saying:
“I’m over the moon that Mo is training and he looks really sharp. Thank God they did the job, but having him available is a massive boost, on and off the pitch, definitely. It’s nothing to do with the numbers he produces, just his personality and the guy. He is on fire. He wants to get started immediately and so yeah, let’s see.”
Salah had only returned to training on Tuesday but showed incredible recovery to get fit in time for today’s clash. With the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea also coming up next week, the Reds will rely on their prolific forward to win the title. On 7 March, the side will also resume their Europa League campaign.
