Inter Milan kept the the current Serie A leaders Napoli under check after defeating Empoli 3-1 at home on Sunday to be three points behind the rivals with one game in hand. Goals in the second half from the Argentine World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez, Denzel Dumfries and Marcus Thruam ensured a convincing victory at San Siro.
Inter loanee Sebastiano Esposito scored a consolation for the 14th placed Empoli in the 79th minute to give the aways side hope but Thuram’s 13th league goal of the campaign was enough to seal the deal for Inter Milan
