5 clubs who should look to sign Viktor Gyokeres this summer
Viktor Gyokeres is becoming a new sensation in the European football scene. The Sporting CP forward is in his best form, scoring 31 goals in 34 games across all competitions. His current display attracts attention from scouts in the continent.
As one of the brightest prospects in Europe, Gyokeres is on the right track of joining big clubs in the future. Here is the list of 5 clubs who should fight for the Swedish national team during this summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal
One of the reported leading potential buyers is North London-based side Arsenal. The Gunners are keen to get Gyokeres into the Emirates as a ready-stock substitution for Gabriel Jesus, who is struggling to get back in shape since his injury.
The UK is not a strange land for Gyokeres as he has been walking the isle since 2018 when joining Brighton. Despite never really playing in The Seagull outfit, the Gemini lad spent three years wandering Swansea and Coventry from 2020 to 2023.
Chelsea
Multiple reports said that Chelsea are one of the suitors to secure the player’s signature. The Blues need a prolific figure upfront and that is the features Gyokeres has in him. Chelsea may have Cole Palmer who is the most scoring player in the squad. But, Gyokeres would be a proper addition in the club’s attacking plan as The Blues have long gone to have a pure striker role in the squad. Gyokeres has a £86m release clause in his contract. But money is not a big issue for Chelsea and the current big-spender-owner Todd Boehly.
Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur might be the least favourite to sign Gyokeres. But football is full of twists and turns, everything is not guaranteed until the ink touches the paper. Remember when Spurs beat Barcelona in the negotiation process of procuring Lucas Bergvall earlier in January? Same thing could happen again with Gyokeres.
Besides, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is looking for a pure number 9 player to improve the club’s scoring rate. The Lilywhites already have the in-form striker Richarlison, but Gyokeres arrival would be a good addition for Spurs who need a deeper squad to compete next season.
Barcelona
Barcelona are also looking for a long-investment opportunity with signing Gyokeres. Robert Lewandowski may be still reliable on the front line but the Polish ace is turning 36 this year. Blaugrana need a fresh name for their sustainable squad in the near future.
Also, there is a possibility that Joao Felix’ loan is not extended as Atletico Madrid refuse to do so -intending to sell the player instead. Considering Gyokeres’ work ethic and determination, Barcelona would have a major boost in their attacking department if the transfer is materialised.
Manchester United
It is almost impossible not to put Manchester United on the list of the suitors. Gyokeres would be a great signing for United under Erik ten Hag’s football system. The Red Devils are doing well with Rasmus Højlund, who has scored 13 goals since arriving from Atalanta in August.
However, Gyokeres is an ideal figure to improve United’s goal scoring rate this season due to his high-paced playing style. The 25-year old forward would also be a worthy competitor for numerous players such as Marcus Rashford and Antony within the squad.
