Las Palmas 1-2 Getafe Player Ratings – Getafe gets a crucial win away from home thanks to Coba da Costa

Relegation battling Getafe, a big victory for the visitors, thanks to a saved penalty from Soria and goals from Coba da Costa and substitute Borja Mayoral. This result pulls Getafe three points away from the drop while Las Palmas remains just a position above the visitors.

The first half was a tactical battle, with both teams having opportunities but lacking clinical finishing. Getafe’s Carles Alena hit the post, while Las Palmas missed several chances. The midfield was combative, making several fouls and disrupting the flow of the game continuously.

Las Palmas were handed a gift in the second half when Alderete conceded a silly foul in the box to concede a penalty. But there was a twist in the tale as David Soria did a great job guessing the correct side as he dived in the right way to save the penalty kick of Fabio Silva, keeping the score level. Getafe made the hosts pay as a cross from close to the line by Peter reaching Uche, who smartly flicked it to Coba da Costa to break the deadlock. Getafe doubled the lead when the substitute Borja Mayoral squeezed the ball beyond the keeper, thanks to the cross from Coba da Costa again.

Las Palmas pulled one back when everything was thought to be over when the substitute Januzaj hit a brilliant volley. The hosts did everything they could to find an equaliser but unfortunately, it was not their evening.
