Top 5 Best FPL Goalkeepers to Pick in Gameweek 18
Rank | Player | Club | Price | Points | GW18 Opponents |
1 | David Raya | Arsenal | £5.6m | 67 points | Ipswich Town |
2 | Robert Sanchez | Chelsea | £4.8m | 64 points | Fulham |
3 | Alisson | Liverpool | £5.4m | 37 points | Leicester City |
4 | Stefan Ortega | Manchester City | £5.4m | 12 points | Everton |
5 | Kepa Arrizabalaga | Bournemouth | £4.5m | 42 points | Crystal Palace |
5. Kepa Arrizabalaga – Bournemouth | 42 points | £4.5m
Kepa Arrizabalaga is still the most expensive goalkeeper in world football. But at Chelsea or even at Real Madrid he never quite settled in and we never quite saw the best of him. That however seems to be on full display now at Bournemouth. The Spanish keeper has seemingly found a home under Spanish boss Andoni Iraola and is performing at his best. He already has 3 clean sheets this season and will be hoping to add one more to the kitty against goal-shy Crystal Palace this weekend.
4. Stefan Ortega – Manchester City | 12 points | £5.4m
Immediately off the bat, it must be stated that Stefan Ortega is a rotation risk. Manchester City have someone as good as Ederson in their ranks too but Pep Guardiola has been playing the rotation roulette between his keepers of late. It does seem though, that the German is the favourite to start this weekend. City have been very leaky in defence and that has been the reason behind them being in dreadful form but the fact is that their opponents this week are Everton, who themselves have struggled to find the back of the net.

3. Alisson – Liverpool | 37 points | £5.4m
The biggest indicator of Alisson’s quality is perhaps the fact that no matter how well Coahmin Kelleher does when the Brazilian is injured, there’s never doubt for anyone about who should be starting when he’s available. Rightfully considered one of the best in the league’s history, Alisson has marked an era of success at Liverpool and will be looking to add another Premier League title at the end of this season. For now, though, he’ll be looking to add another clean sheet this weekend, when Liverpool take on Leicester City.
2. Robert Sanchez – Chelsea | 64 points | £4.8m
While Robert Sanchez has encountered considerable criticism this season, he has been improving lately. Against Everton last weekend, he delivered an impressive performance to his name. Chelsea has also demonstrated significant defensive improvement lately. This week, they are scheduled to play against Fulham. The Cottagers have been good but goalscoring has been a worry. A solid showing once more from Sanchez will be greatly beneficial as Chelsea aims to enter the title race. The Spanish goalkeeper has achieved 4 clean sheets so far this season. He has also amassed a total of 54 saves.
1. David Raya – Arsenal | 67 points | £5.6m
David Raya is considered one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League. He is exceptional at stopping shots and also excels in his distribution. The Spanish goalkeeper started the season as the highest-scoring keeper but faced challenges as Arsenal’s performance faltered. However, Raya is a player who regularly delivers strong performances and makes very few errors. This week, Arsenal is set to play against Ipswich Town this weekend, and they have had a rather poor start to the season but showed have promised to be fair to them. He has managed 6 clean sheets and made 45 saves in the Premier League so far.
As we turn our attention to Gameweek 18, the Premier League has a thrilling set of fixtures lined up. The highlight of the weekend is the game between Manchester City and Everton. Manchester City have been struggling immensely and any win at the moment looks difficult to come by. Everton on the other hand have been difficult to score against but also difficult to score.
The deadline for GW18 is on December 26th.
