Chelsea aims to sign Sporting CP talent Dario Essugo

The Blues have joined the race to land Sporting Lisbon’s 19-year-old midfielder Dario Essugo, who is currently on a season long loan spell till the end of the 2024/25 campaign, at La Liga outfit UD Las Palmas. Dario has started 12 La Liga matches for Las Palmas this season.

According to The Sun, the young defensive midfielder is wanted by Chelsea at a ‘cheaper price’ and they are ready to compete for the signature of the talented player, following his impressive ongoing stint in Gran Canaria.

The Premier League club faces competition from Spanish giants Real Madrid and Leeds United, as they have also generated notable interest in a Portuguese midfielder. He has reported a release cause of 45 million euros, an amount Chelsea will be happy to pay.
