Tyrick Mitchell’s Net Worth and Salary
Mitchell signed a new contract in 2021 with the Eagles when he became a mainstay in the team. It was a four-year contract that saw him earn £40,000 a week. That was his first professional contract and as it is fast running out, Mitchell is assessing his options. A crucial few months await him at the start of 2025.
The very obvious one would be signing an improved contract with his boyhood club but at far better terms. Any contract signed now should reflect his importance to the team and he would hope for a six-figure sum per week. Another option is to take a risk and dip into the free agency market. There are rumours that few of the traditional Big Six clubs are on the lookout for Mitchell. It would boost his prospects as he would receive a hefty signing-on bonus along with a bumper increase in wage.
If this route is to be taken, it wouldn’t go down so well with his club and the supporters. Knowing how shy and humble the boy is, it is unlikely that he would take this route.

Tyrick Mitchell Club Career Stats
A young Tyrick Mitchell took solace in football to get away from the difficulties in his life. He showed good skill as a 10-year-old and at that age, he met Abdi Farah who would reshape his life. The AFC Wembley coach took a personal interest in the shy boy and became a father figure to him. He mentored a quiet Mitchell and guided him to what he is today. Farah’s care and special interest meant that Mitchell’s potential wouldn’t go to waste.
Mitchell was representing AFC Wembley in a friendly against Brentford. The Bees now in the Premier League were quick to note Mitchell’s talents. As they had a smooth association with AFC Wembley, Mitchell made the switch to another London side. At Brentford, Mitchell was playing a key role at youth levels. He was quite versatile and was deployed as a winger and as a midfielder too when the need arose.
Mitchell saw a red card in a must-win youth game to clinch a league title. This led to a turnaround as Brentford lost 3-2 after taking a two-goal lead. A very harsh lesson was there to be learned for a young Mitchell. Soon in 2016, due to financial struggles, Brentford had to close their academy.
Mitchell was soon on the lookout for a new club and wanted to remain in London to stay close to his family. Crystal Palace then became his home and he is just a year shy of spending a decade with the Eagles.
Mitchell joined Palace’s development squad in 2016 as a 17-year-old. After impressing the coaches he earned a two-year scholarship at the club. He was part of under-18 and under-23 teams for the next couple of seasons. A couple of highly successful seasons saw him become a regular for under 23s along with winning Professional Development Leagues. This saw him promoted to the senior squad.
After signing a new contract in January 2019, Mitchell was poised to make a senior debut very soon. However, an unfortunate injury hampered his progress and the pandemic delayed the 2019/20 season. That was just enough for him to make his senior debut on July 4, 2020, against Leicester City.
Mitchell initially was an understudy to Patrick van Aanholt at left-back. The Dutch veteran’s constant injuries gave Mitchell an extended run in the team. Hodgson’s system saw Mitchell play as a defence first conservative fullback on the left. In April 2021, he signed a contract extension to fend off interest from rival clubs. He then registered his first goal and assist for the club in May 2021.
Under Patrick Vieira, Mitchell became the undisputed first-choice left-back for the club. The Frenchman’s system asked for a different version of Mitchell. He also needed to hone his attacking skills and keep running up and down the flank with energy. Soon he notched up his 100th Curtsal Palace appearance in 2023.
It took Oliver Glasner to further refine Mitchell. The Austrian deploys a back three and uses Mitchell on the left as a wing-back. This has taken the pressure off him defensively and wanted more from him in the attacking third. The 25 year old despite impressing the manager with his work ethic isn’t able to find the end product in the final third. The promising signs are there but Mitchell needs to add more tangible products to improve his market value.
It will be interesting to see where the full-back will be playing come August 2025 as he is running out of contract this summer.

Tyrick Mitchell International Career Stats
Tyrick Mitchell’s defensive attributes impressed the then-England manager Gareth Southgate. He wanted a left-back that could defend and hold the line together without getting beaten too easily. Following injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James, Mitchell was called up to the English senior team. A debut soon awaited him as a substitute against Switzerland in those friendlies.
However, Southgate switched to a back three for England meaning Mitchell wouldn’t get another call-up again. This has led to Mitchell embracing his Jamaican nationality and expressing a desire to represent the island nation. It is to be soon if the fullback would switch allegiances and don Jamaica’s colours on the international stage again.

Tyrick Mitchell Injury
Mitchell is blessed with a slender and strong build that has kept injuries out of his frame. In fact, his league debut would’ve come a lot earlier if he hadn’t suffered the only major injury of his career. He was named in the preseason squad of Crystal Palace that toured the US in 2019.
Unfortunately, a 20-year-old Mitchell then suffered a thigh injury in the pre-season of the 2019/2020 season. It forced him to sit out for five months and when he eventually returned to the squad, the injuries returned again. But once he recovered from it, he was relatively injury-free till now. With his form and a 100% availability record, he is always the first name on the team sheet for his manager.
