Bayern Munich returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga after their draw against arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund and a defeat against Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup. They secured a nervous 4-2 victory over FC Heidenheim at the Allianz Arena on Saturday to create a solid six-point lead at the top of the table.

Two second-half goals from substitute Jamal Musiala helped the team secure a full three points as they were battling a stalemate after goals from Dayot Upamecano and Honsak. The match saw a nervous ending as most of the goals came at the fag end of the game with Leon Goretzka netting his first Bundesliga goal this season. Substitute Dorsch made it two for the visiting side around the 84th minute.

Dayot Upamecano: 8.3/10- Scored the first goal for his team after peeling off Manika and putting it into the near post. His mistake led to the goal for the opposition after he misjudged the long ball.

Kim Min-Jae: 7.5/10- Kim was solid in defence with 97 per cent passing accuracy and was involved in three defensive actions. He recovered 11 balls for his team and won three duels.

Alphonso Davies: 6.6/10- He did a decent job contributing both in attack as well as defence. He was involved in four defensive actions and made five recoveries for his team. He hit the post as he does a one-two with Guerreiro and fires off the base of the left post.

Midfielders

Michael Olise: 8.6/10- The French attacking midfielder had a great game helping the team in attack. He clipped a ball over for Sane to chase in behind. However, it’s just too far ahead. He assisted the goal of Musiala.

Joshua Kimmich: 8.6/10- Was solid in midfield as he prevented many attacks from the opposition and was the source for attacks for Bayern. He assisted Upamecano’s goal from a corner which was just begging for a touch. He again put a cross for Olise but the latter was not able to make any contact.

Aleksandar Pavlovic: 7.3/10- He orchestrated the game well in midfield with a passing accuracy of 97 per cent. He was involved in four defensive actions and made four recoveries for his team. He took a shot after a cross by Boey but was hit wide right.

Attackers

Leroy Sane: 7.9/10- He was sharp with his twisting and turnings in the game and had around five shots on goal for his team. Had a header off Olise’s cross but it went wide of the left post. He assisted the third goal for his team.

Raphael Guerreiro: 8.3/10- The Portuguese right-back played as a right winger and had a great game in attack for Bayern. He headed a shot on target off Muller’s cross but the visiting keeper took an easy catch. He assisted the second goal of Jamal Musiala after he gave a simple pass to set the latter.

Thomas Muller: 6.3/10- The German striker did not have a great game as he had three shots out of which only one was on target. He found Sane in a great position around the 11th minute but Gimber was smart enough to intercept.
