Real Madrid to sack Carlo Ancelotti, interim asked to prepare
This season it’s going from bad to worse for the defending La Liga and UEFA Champions League winning manager Carlo Ancelotti. With results poor as per Real Madrid CF’s benchmark, the genius tactician might now have to step out of the hot seat, ever since the start of his second spell at the club since 2021, at least that is what Cope reports.
The 65-year-old tactical mastermind is having a tough time at the club. The patience of the Spanish stalwarts is finally seeming to melt, after three defeats in the five games of the Champions League this season, especially after the loss to rivals Liverpool FC, whom they last lost to in 2009. They also lost big to arch-rivals FC Barcelona and AC Milan this season. The side is also four points below FC Barcelona in the Spanish top tier.
Now, following the series of poor results, it is being reported that Real Madrid would part ways with their champion coach Carlo Ancelotti even before the season ends. It has also been learned that Real Madrid have conveyed to former coach and club ambassador Santiago Solari to prepare himself to take charge if Ancelotti leaves. The move is not sudden, as it was conveyed a few weeks ago. Reportedly, the information has annoyed Ancelotti.
Roberto Morales told El Partidazo on Cadena COPE (as per Forbes), “They tell me from inside the club that, since a few weeks ago, they’ve told Solari to be prepared, which is a message which arrives to the coach and it annoys Ancelotti”. He also added, “I don’t know where it comes from, but I know that I had a coffee with someone important and he told me that Solari has been warned.”
Carlo Ancelotti’s performance at Real Madrid
Ancelotti joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, after having a previous spell at the club which spans from 2013 to 2015. During his second spell, he has won two La Liga, two UEFA Champions League, two Super Cups, two Supercopa de España, and one Copa del Rey and FIFA Club World Cup each.
Despite being the most successful coach in this stint in the entire of Europe, he is rumoured to be sacked for his current poor spell and tactics. However, the decision might be a harsh one, knowing that he has key players in all sections of the field missing due to injuries, making him struggle to create a competitive eleven.
Santiago Solari as interim coach
Santiago Solari as an interim coach won’t be bad either. He has previously coached Real Madrid for over three months, starting in October 2018, following the disastrous spell of Julen Lopetegui. As Real Madrid coach he had a 68.75% win rate. However a lot has changed in the team since then, and he last coached Mexico’s Club America in 2022.
