Best Defenders to pick in Fantasy Premier League GW 10
Gameweek 10 of the Fantasy Premier League will be upon us this weekend and by now we have all gained quite a bit of insight into the season. Keeping that in mind, let us pick the best defenders to give us the most points this week.
5. Ben White
Ben White had been a dependable presence in the Arsenal defence for Mikel Arteta ever since his signing. But this season, with the return to fitness of Jurrien Timber and the signing of Riccardo Calafiori, he found himself briefly out of the team. However, with injuries and suspensions piling up, White is back in the XI and this weekend, when Arsenal travel to Newcastle, he will be expected to give a solid performance from the RB position.
4. Murillo
Murillo is one of the Premier League’s most interesting defenders. The 22-year-old is a left-footer who was quite hyped back in his native Brazil as he was coming through. Since signing for Nottingham Forest, he has basically been a rock while other things around him kept changing. Not only is he defensively great, Murillo has also, on multiple occasions taken shots on goal after dribbling the length of the field. While it’s difficult to predict that happening this weekend versus West Ham, a good points haul in Fantasy Premier League seems likely.

3. Jurrien Timber
While Jurrien Timber was taken off last week in the Liverpool fixture, Mikel Arteta has now confirmed that it was mostly fatigue-related more than injury. That is good news for Fantasy Premier League managers too. Timber can play anywhere across the backline and provides steel alongside creativity. While Arsenal do travel to Newcastle this weekend, it must be noted that the Magpies have been far below their recent standards this weekend and the Gunners are expected to dominate.
2. Josko Gvardiol
Josko Gvardiol is fast becoming one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League. It is difficult to look beyond him most weeks, when it comes to Fantasy Premier League. The Croatian has Pep Guardiola’s trust and is a fixture in that backline now. He provides a dual threat in both ends of the pitch. This weekend, Manchester City go on to face Bournemouth, where a clean sheet will be expected of Gvardiol at the very least.

1. Trent Alexander-Arnold
Trent Alexander-Arnold is someone who makes this list most weeks and that is because what he offers creatively is not only unmatched in the league presently, but also extremely rare to find. While Liverpool’s this week’s opponents Brighton are a good attacking side, they tend to be leaky and have injury concerns too. Liverpool on the other hand, have conceded the least number of goals in the Premier League matches. As for Trent’s points potential, his record speaks for him.
