Marseille vs PSG Player Ratings as PSG trounce arch rivals

The latest iteration of the Le Classique was a heavily one sided affair. PSG ran out 3-0 and it could well have been many, many more. They had an xG of 2.98 in this game.

Amine Harit got sent off for Marseille in the first half and then errors from Geronimo Rulli, Leonardo Balerdi and Mason Greenwood saw PSG capitalise fully. Bradley Barcola and Joao Neves got the goals. For Neves, it was a big moment as it was his first goal for the club. It has been a great start for the two new signings who played, Pacho and Neves.

PSG are top of the table and are 3 points ahead of anyone. Marseille are in the 3rd spot, 6 points behind PSG. It remains to be seen if they can challenge for the title.

Goalkeeper

G. Rulli — 4/10. Made a big error as he failed to catch a cross and gave it straight to Neves for the first goal. Could have done better for the own goal as well.

Defenders

M. Murillo — 6/10. Did quite well against Barcola 1v1. However, he did not provide too much to the team with the ball.

L. Balerdi — 4/10. The Argentine CB scored a really comical own goal to double PSG’s lead. Struggled on the whole to march PSG’s forwards.

G. Kondogbia — 5/10. Not the greatest outing for Kondogbia playing out of position. Shaky in duels and didn’t provide much with the ball either.

L. Brassier – 5/10. Struggled to contend with the dribbling of Dembele. Barely provided anything when he had the ball.

Midfielders

A. Rabiot – 6/10. Did try to provide some steel and quality in the midfield but PSG’s midfield were simply too good for them.

P. Hojbjerg – 5/10. A very poor outing for the Danish workhorse. Beaten way too easily at times and also booked early on.

M. Greenwood — 4/10. Made a poor judgement leading to a PSG goal. Taken off at half time in what was his worst outing in a Marseille shirt.

A. Harit — 4/10. Sent off in the 20th minute for a terrible challenge on Marquinhos. A very high boot and a deserved red.

L. Henrique – 5/10. Very ineffective performance from the Brazilian winger. Could not really threaten as Hakimi feasted on that wing.

Forwards

E. Wahi — 5/10. Had a very silent first half and was replaced at half time. Only had a shot from absurd range which didn’t trouble the keeper much.

Substitutes

I. Kone – 5/10. Came on and lost the most duels in the game.

J. Ramsey – 5/10. Came on at half time and didn’t have the chance to do much else.

P. Lirola – N.A.

Manager

R. De Zerbi – 6/10. Massively let down today by individual mistakes. The quality difference also showed between the two sides.
