Bournemouth 2-0 Arsenal: Player Ratings as William Saliba sees red as the Gunners fall to a shock defeat

Bournemouth hosted Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium in the Premier League and secured a shock 2-0 win over the Gunners in a spirited performance.

Mikel Arteta’s team arrived at the South Coast in a depleted state with several key players out injured. They lacked any sort of creativity and started off on the backfoot, with the hosts confident in their attacking efforts. Things went further south for the visitors as William Saliba was sent off for a last-man foul on Evanilson in the first half. However, the teams were deadlocked at 0-0.

The second half saw Bournemouth take a bit more risk and push forward with a man advantage. Their persistence bore fruit in the 70th minute as substitutes Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert combined to make it 1-0 to The Cherries. Just nine minutes later, Kluivert doubled the lead from the spot after David Raya brought Evanilson down.

Bournemouth held on to secure a historic win against Arsenal, and on that note, let’s take a look at the player ratings for both sides.
