Namibia vs Zimbabwe Player Ratings: Zimbabwe Claimed Narrow win over Namibia

Zimbabwe extends their unbeaten run in the African Cup of Nations 2025 qualifiers following the Group J match week third game. As they Squeeze past rival Namibia in a close triumph courtesy of a 1-0 scoreline at the Orlando Stadium in South Africa.

For the Brave Warriors Khama Billiat converted the penalty from the spot minutes after half an hour in the 34th minute. Billiat who has previously played for some of the most popular South African clubs marked his return with the winner for his country and helped the team to secure their maiden three-point haul.

Namibia also came close on several occasions to level the scoreline and had multiple shots hit the woodwork. In the concluding phase of the match, they asserted full force against Zimbabwe but were unable to produce any key chances to open their points tally in the qualification campaign.

Edward Maova (6.5/10): Was good overall and made three saves but could not deny the penalty goal despite excellent judgment.

Vetunuavi Charles Hambira (6.5/10): The right-back was solid aerial, going forward in attacks and playing accurate passing on the right side of the defence.

Peter Shalulile (6/10): The Namibia skipper displayed an attacking mindset moving into the opposition box while playing in the back line.

Kennedy Amutenya (4/10): Gave away the penalty after a reckless challenge and was taken off in the 2nd half.

Ngero Kaanjuka Katua (7/10): He was excellent in attack with two successful dribbles, and final third passes and was equally solid in defence.

Midfielders

Romeo Kasume (7/10): Another player who was top-class individually in passing, tackles and created a chance as well.

Deon Hotto (6/10): Played the entire game, operating in the midfield and helping his team with defensive duties.

Welwin Riaan Hanamub (7,5/10): He was brilliant on the wide left in defensive actions and creating attacks with three chances.

Ivan Kamberipa (5.5/10): His movement was majorly on the extreme right with no major contributions.

Forwards

Aprocious Petrus (6/10): Was very much involved in the action dropping deep into midfield and playing 9 final third passes.

Prins Menelik Tjiueza (6/10): Despite having five shots he failed to find the back of the net.

Washington Arubi (8/10): He made five saves and 13 balls recovering in the goal and stood as the rock in front of the Namibia attack to keep the clean sheet.

Defenders

Godknows Murwira (7/10): He did well in defence and in going forward with his dribbling, and passing, also had a shot on target.

John Takwara (7.5/10): He was solid as the centre-back clearing out any danger in the defence and helping his side to maintain the clean sheet.

Brendan Galloway (7/10): Paired up well with his centre-back partner making essential recoveries and clearances at the back.

Jordan Zemura (5.5 /10): The Udinese left-back had a fair game overall on the left side of defence.

Midfielders

Andy Rinomhota (7/10): Playing as a pivot he shared in both attack and defence. Also won multiple duels in the midfield.

Marvelous Nakamba (7.5/10): Luton Town defensive midfielder was perfect in his tackles and duels with a 100% success rate.

Khama Billiat (7.5/10): Scored the penalty to secure the win and additionally he created three chances as well.

Marshall Munetsi (6/10): Sitting behind the striker, he played five passes into the final third.
