Leny Yoro offers positive fitness update amid his injury rehab

Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has provided a positive fitness update as he continues his recovery from injury. The 18-year-old summer signing suffered an unfortunate injury during a game against Arsenal in pre-season and subsequently underwent surgery, which has kept him on the sidelines since. However, he has now come up with an optimistic update, which might excite the Red Devils and their fans.

Yoro shares a four-word update on his injury

After breaking through at Lille as one of the most promising talents in Europe, Yoro made his much-anticipated switch to Old Trafford in a deal worth €70 million in the summer transfer window despite the interest from Real Madrid. While Utd thought they had signed a player who could mark an era at the club and also be a quick fix to their defensive issues, Yoro, however, got off to a devastating start, suffering a serious injury in pre-season. Having been in intense rehab, the French prodigy has shared a clip of him walking on the treadmill with the message ‘On the Way Back.’ It serves as a promising update to both fans and the club, who are waiting to see him in action in the United shirt.

Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag revealed at the end of last month that Yoro had been on the right track in his recovery and would return to the squad sooner.  “He is in the right spot, and he will return as soon as possible to the squad and then the team training,” said the Dutch boss.

Yoro has been touted to make his comeback next month after the international break although the club remains more cautious about his recovery. There is a great chance for the former Lille star to feature for the Red Devils before the end of the year, and all eyes will be on him on how quickly he can adapt to his new surroundings in England.

United’s injury woes extended after Harry Maguire became the latest to join the treatment room. The English centre-back picked up an injury during the draw against Aston Villa last weekend and is expected to be out for a few weeks, piling up problems for Ten Hag, who is already under immense scrutiny. Man Utd’s defensive frailties have been blatant this season, as they have conceded 8 goals in the Premier League in addition to 4 goals in the Europa League.
