Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is expected to join French club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan after the Serbian managed to play 31 matches under Mauricio Pochettino last season. It is understood that the goalkeeper has agreed on new terms with Chelsea ahead of his loan switch.

He was a dependable performer in his debut season for the West London giants but became a peripheral figure after just one season. He was signed from New England Revolution for £14m last summer and now will join Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club.

Petrovic was reluctant to join the French club on a permanent deal but he agreed on a loan move to get more first-team minutes this season.
