Gary O’Neil admits Wolves need to replace Pedro Neto and Max Kilman

Premier League club Wolves witnessed the departure of their former Captain Max Kilman to league rivals West Ham United in the ongoing 2024 summer transfer window. Old Gold’s star winger Pedro Neto also secured a move to Chelsea recently.

Both transfers combined nearly fetch Wolves a sum close to £100 million. While Kilman’s move to West Ham was for around £40 million, Neto’s transfer to Chelsea was marked at about £54 million.

In a recent one-to-one with ‘Sky Sports‘, Wolves boss Gary O’Neil stressed the fact that the club needs to replace both Max Kilman and Pedro Neto after their departures.

O’Neil reportedly stated – “Those guys, we need to replace them. They are a huge part of what we were.” He further asserted – “Max (Kilman) played every minute of every game and Pedro had a huge involvement in loads of our goals and loads of our big results.”

On how hard the Old Gold’s hierarchy is working to fill the void, O’Neil expressed – “We are working very, very hard on trying to replace them.”

The Wolves Gaffer also stretched out that where Wolves stands in terms of their current financial position is “very different” from what it was earlier.

“We need to be cuter with how we do things, and it might not be like-for-like”, Gary O’Neil expressed.

Wolves have been linked with a move for Ajax’s winger Carlos Forbes as a replacement for Pedro Neto, while RB Salzburg’s defender Oumar Solet is touted to be eyed by the club to fill Kilman’s void.
