Tottenham’s interest in Dominic Solanke could be hampered by the striker’s steep release clause at Bournemouth

According to ‘Football London‘, Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur might have to make a decision regarding their interest in rival London club Bournemouth’s striker Dominic Solanke soon. Spurs are currently split between three striker options. The names are reported to be – Victor Gyokeres (Sporting CP), Jonathan David (LOSC Lille), and Dominic Solanke.

Ange Postecolglou’s Spurs might find it difficult to bring in Dominic Solankee to the club as the England-born player has a hefty release clause of about £65 million at the Cherries. ‘Football London’ suggests that if Tottenham decides to do this deal, they will embark upon a new transfer record for themselves.

On the other hand, Jonathan David from LOSC Lille is expected to be available at a transfer fee of about £25 million, making him a more feasible option for Tottenham in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Dominic Solanke lighted up the last Premier League season, with his exceptional performances in front of the goal for Bournemouth. The Cherries striker scored 19 goals and registered three assists in 38 appearances in the last top-tier English campaign.

While it’s a no-brainer that a player of his capability and talent could really enhance Spurs’ frontline in the upcoming season, the release clause in his current contract at Bournemouth might prove to be too steep for Tottenham to look into. Whether Postecoglou’s side will really push for him before the window closes remains to be seen.
