Chelsea battling Manchester United for Joan Martinez transfer from Real Madrid

Chelsea have taken an interest in Real Madrid prodigy Joan Martinez, who has gained popularity following his unofficial debut for Los Blancos in pre-season. The 16-year-old defender has drawn comparisons with Sergio Ramos and wants to emulate his idol in the future.

Martinez is one of the brightest prospects in European football and he only arrived in Real’s academy around a year back. His contract with the club expires in the summer of 2026 and Real is confident of tying the youngster to a new contract.

The Spaniard is considered a long-term prospect for Real Madrid and will not leave the Spanish capital after only one season despite interest from Premier League clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United
