Arsenal Secures Young Goalkeeper Tommy Setford from Ajax

Arsenal’s acquisition of Setford is part of a broader strategy to revamp their academy goalkeeper lineup.

The club has recently released Ovie Ejeheri, James Hillson and Arthur Okonkwo necessitating new signings to bolster their ranks.

The 18-year-old English goalkeeper Tommy Setford is set to undergo a medical with Arsenal early next week. The clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of around €1 million after the initial offer was made public. Setford will sign a contract with Arsenal that runs until June 2028.

Alongside Setford Arsenal have also signed 18-year-old Danish youth international Lucas Nygaard from FC Nordsjaelland.

Nygaard who has a connection with goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana is another promising addition to the academy.
