Liverpool director Richard Hughes has hinted at possible incoming transfers this summer. The Reds are set to begin a new era under manager Arne Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp after the German left his position last season following a nine-year spell.
On 26 July, after a break of over two-months, Liverpool return to action for their pre-season, starting with a clash against La Liga’s Real Betis in the United States. Their league campaign officially kicks off three weeks later against promoted side Ipswich Town on 17 August.
Between now and until then, the Merseysiders could be looking to reinforce their squad, with director Hughes making indications. He said (quoted by Fabrizio Romano on X):
“If we can improve certain areas as we go, we will look to do that. We will be opportunistic on the market. I’m in constant communication with Arne.”
Liverpool have already seen Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip leave on free transfers, whereas Calvin Ramsay has joined Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.
