Luke Shaw Injury: Playing count this season stops at 15 games as the full-back suffer an injury setback

The 2023/2 season is finished for Luke Shaw. Instead of recovering from injury, the 28-year old full-back suffered another injury setback after the manager Erik Ten Hag announced so. In total this season, Shaw only played 15 times across the competition with Manchester United

Shaw has been out since February when only played 45 minutes against Luton. Ten Hag said that it is unlikely to see Shaw playing again with United for the rest of the season. The Red Devils still have one away schedule to Brighton for the final game of the league and the FA Cup final against Manchester City

Luke Shaw Injury: Position in the national team is jeopardized

“Luke is more complicated, in this moment; I think it’s less of a chance that he will make it but there is still a chance,” Ten Hag said via Guardian. “He had a setback, and now we have to find out how he is.”

Being only able to feature in 15 games in a single season was not an ideal stats for a player. But Shaw has seen worse when only played eight games in his second season with United. It was when he suffered tibia and fibula fracture which forced him out for 288 days.

The setback makes Shaw’s chance to make it to Gareth Southgate’s summer squad for the Euro is in doubt. The 53-year old tactician will announce his provisional Euro roster on Tuesday, with the current  situation, he has to think of another option for the position.
