“Even the commentary has changed”: Todd Boehly Inflicts his Opinion on Chelsea Turning Around the Corners
Todd Boehly praises his team’s recent run of form
Todd Boehly the owner of the Premier League club Chelsea has recently stated his opinion on how the club has managed to turn around a corner in their recent on-field outings in the top-tier of English football. As reported by ‘The Athletic’, the American Business tycoon reflected upon the Blues’ progress and asserted –
“We’ve seen the last two and a half games, at least in the second half at Aston Villa (2-2 draw) and Tottenham (2-0 Win) and West Ham United (5-0 win) where we played just beautiful football”. “In those two and a half games, you could really start to see what we were working on coming together”, Boehly reportedly depicted.
Taking a dig at the difference between the commentary now and when the Blues were going through a tough phase in the league, Boehly insisted – “Even the commentary has changed over the last two and a half games. I’ve never seen anything change so quickly”. From his statements, it can be inferred that the club owner is very optimistic about his team’s future and is in awe of the recent strides that Chelsea has taken under Mauricio Pochettino.
While the London-based side’s improvement in the recent league matches is imminent to open eyes, the goal will be to take it a level higher under these sets of players and challenge for bigger things when the next season arrives. Poch’s early Premier League experience could certainly come in handy for the Stamford Bridge side if they want to take the club back to where it realistically belongs.
Chelsea has come to life again under Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino has slowly but gradually been able to build cohesiveness in Chelsea’s style of play. All of a sudden the Blues look more likely to score every time they press forward. The Blues’ pace and skills down the sides and through the middle have been making it tough for the opponents to deal with them. With players like Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer leading the performances for the Londoners, others have also started to chip in and make a difference.
Poch’s side is now in the mix for a potential European spot with the last few matches remaining in the season. However, they are bound to face competition from rivals Man United and Newcastle United who are very close to them in the league’s table. If the Blues do manage to get European football for next season, it could do wonders for their confidence in the long run.
