“Keep your head high”: Didier Drogba’s message of support to Nicolas Jackson after recent performances
Following his big money move to Chelsea, a lot has been expected out of Nicolas Jackson but while he has had a promising debut season, there have been a few issues as well. That includes Jackson’s struggles to take his chances in front of goal with the forward spurring several gilt-edge opportunities. That has eventually led to Cheslea losing more than a few games they probably should have won.
That has especially been the case over the last few weeks including in the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City with Jackson spurring several chances to hand his side the lead. The Blues eventually lost the game 1-0 and ahead of a clash against Arsenal, many fans are worried. Not only that, it has seen many criticise Jackson while others have called for him to be dropped.

However, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has instead backed the forward and praised his work-ethic and everything that he offers to the team beyond goals. Even then, the Argentine did admit, in his pre-game press conference, that Jackson does need more experience as he is still a young player. But, the 22-year-old, despite his age, has been compared to Didier Drogba rather often this season.

Yet, his recent issues have seen the tide turn although Drogba himself has backed Jackson with a heartwarming message on social media. The Chelsea legend, who spent eight years at Stamford Bridge, had his own struggles during his spell with the Blues. But despite that, the Ivory Coast star ended his spell at Stamford Bridge with over 180 goals for the club while winning over 10 trophies including the Champions League.
And in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Drogba backed Jackson and asked him to keep the faith, and added “Keep your head High UP and never stop working hard, it will pay off [praying emoji and blue heart emoji].”
