Barcelona vs PSG player ratings as French side gets remontada revenge

PSG have got their revenge for the 2017 Remontada and how! The Ligue1 side knocked out Barcelona from the UEFA Champions League with a stunning 4-1 win in the second leg.

After conceding early in the game, the French side looked all but out of the competition. However, a red card to Ronald Araujo just before the half-hour mark turned the game on its head.

Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha scored to make it 2-1 on the night and level on aggregate. Kylian Mbappe scored a second-half brace to seal the tie 6-4. Here are the Barcelona vs PSG player ratings:-

Barcelona Player Ratings:

Marc-André ter Stegen – 8 – Made five saves in the game but could not do much to keep PSG at bay as he got very little help.

Jules Koundé – 6.5 – Had a decent game but his error eventually led to the final goal for PSG that ended all hopes of Barcelona taking the match to extra time.

Ronald Araújo – 3 – An unnecessary red card at the half-hour mark changed the game completely. Barcelona were leading in the match and were 4-2 up when he fouled Barcola outside the box.

Pau Cubarsí – 7 – Easily the best defender for Barcelona today as he managed to keep Kylian Mbappe quiet.

João Cancelo – 6 – His mistake saw PSG get the penalty that helped them get the lead in the tie. Was having a tough time handling Dembele and Hakimi today.

Pedri – 6.5 – Was the only Barcelona midfielder who managed to deliver on the night.

İlkay Gündoğan – 6 – Hit the post when the tie was level but that was his only contribution in the game. Had a penalty shout in the second half, but the referee and VAR did not believe he was tripped by the PSG defenders.

Frenkie de Jong – 6.5 – Managed to get just 34 touches in the game as PSG managed to drift him out.

Lamine Yamal – 7.5 – Played just over 30 minutes of the game as he was taken off following the red card to Araujo. However, he managed to get an assist that got Barcelona their only goal of the match.

Robert Lewandowski – 6.5 – Had a golden chance to level things up for Barcelona at the end of the game, but he went for a sot himself instead of passing and had it blocked. PSG scored in their next attack and sealed the win.

Raphinha – 8 – Barcelona’s best player on the night and scored the goal that helped them take the lead. However, he did not get enough service in the second half.

Iñigo Martínez – 6 – Came on after Araujo got sent off but hardly managed to make an impact in the game. Got booked after PSG scored as he was involved in a push-and-shove with Mbappe.

Ferran Torres – 7 – Connected well with Lewandowski but could not get on the scoresheet.

Fermín López – 6 – Came on for De Jong in the final 10 minutes but could not do much.

João Félix – 6.5 – Managed to do well with Lewandowski, but did not get a shot away.

PSG Player Ratings:

Gianluigi Donnarumma – 6.5 – Could have done a lot better for the goal. Overall, had to make just two saves in the whole night.

Achraf Hakimi – 7.5 – Tourmented Cancelo and was up and down the right flank.

Marquinhos – 8 – A rock at the back that was unbeatable for Barcelona. He managed to get between the attackers and the goal at every given opportunity.

Lucas Hernández – 6.5 – Had a rough game but managed to hold his nerve and stay with Robert Lewandowski.

Nuno Mendes – 7 – Was a threat for Barcelona down the left flank and he was linking up well with Barcola.

Warren Zaïre-Emery – 6.5 – A tough match for the youngster but he managed to do well at every opportunity.

Vitinha – 8 – A brilliant goal to cap off a stunning performance from the Portuguese star.

Fabián Ruiz – 6.5 – Was getting into the right positions but did not manage to get things going.

Ousmane Dembélé – 8.5 – He just loves to do well against Barcelona and today showed that he can silence the home fans very easily.

Kylian Mbappé – 8 – Managed to get two goals but was having a tough time getting past Pau Cubarsi. Did a lot better than the first leg, but nowhere close to his best.

Bradley Barcola – 8 – The youngster was a live wire in attack and managed to get past Jules Kounde with ease at almost every attempt.

Kang-in Lee – 7 – Came to bring more control to PSG in the midfield and managed to do exactly that in the final 13+ minutes.

Marco Asensio – 6.5 – Hardly made an impact after coming on for PSG later in the game.

Manuel Ugarte – 6.5 – Hardly made an impact after coming on for PSG later in the game.

Randal Kolo Muani – 6.5 – Hardly made an impact after coming on for PSG later in the game.
