Arsenal and Chelsea linked with a move for Lille defender Leny Yoro

Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly sent scouts to watch young defender Leny Yoro in action against Aston Villa on Thursday. The Lille defender has attracted a lot of European interest and many clubs will be fighting for his signature this summer.

Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain are also some of the other elite clubs interested in the 18-year-old defender.

Why Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the young French defender Leny Yoro?

The 18-year-old defender graduated from the Lille academy and has been regarded as one of the best young defensive prospects in European football. He only has 18 months left on his contract with Lille and the French club are desperate to secure a long-term deal before the summer transfer window commences.

Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the teenager who has consolidated the role of a regular starter in the ongoing campaign. Chelsea are also chasing some of the top young talents and have their eyes set on the young Frenchman.

According to reports, Arsenal and Chelsea were in attendance when the defender featured for Lille in the clash against Aston Villa in the European Conference League.

Yoro will definitely need some to adapt to the Premier League but he has the technical and physical attributes to prosper in the Premier League and would be a long-term acquisition for both London clubs.

Is Real Madrid also interested in signing Leny Yoro?

Lille defender, Leny Yoro has endured a breakout campaign in Ligue 1 this campaign and has attracted the interest of some elite clubs including Real Madrid. Yoro would be attracted to the prospect of joining one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano claimed Real Madrid is reportedly the frontrunner for the youngster’s signature.

“There is a lot of interest, as I’ve always told you, from England and from France with Paris Saint-Germain, who wanted to sign him in January,” Romano said.

“Real Madrid have also been scouting the player for a long time and from what I’m hearing, they plan to send their scouts again to follow Yoro in February. Real Madrid has a new mission ready for this boy, to track this boy and to decide what they want to do with Yoro in the summer transfer window.
