Massive Blow for Arsenal: Pedro Neto Likely Out for Season, Huge Transfer Risk?

In a devastating setback for potential suitors like Arsenal Pedro Neto’s latest injury could see him sidelined for the remainder of the season raising doubts about his future transfer prospects.

Wolves Manager on Injury of Pedro Neto

The Portuguese winger who has been on Arsenal’s radar for a summer move suffered a hamstring injury during Wolves‘ clash against Fulham in March.

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil expressed concern suggesting that Neto could be facing an extended spell on the sidelines with his return potentially not until the last couple of games of the campaign.

“Pedro, it’s potentially the end of the season for him – very similar to the injury he suffered on the other side,” O’Neil said.

“There’s a chance he gets back for the last couple if it goes really well.”

A Risky Transfer Target for Arsenal

Reports indicate that Neto’s valuation initially set at £80 million is already dropping with recent estimates hovering around £60 million.

Despite Arsenal’s interest in bolstering their attacking options doubts persist over whether the club would be willing to meet Wolves’ asking price. That too particularly for a player with a history of injury woes.

Pedro Neto Injury Record

Neto’s injury record is a cause for concern with the winger struggling to maintain consistent fitness throughout his time at Molineux.

From minor setbacks in his debut Premier League season to a devastating knee injury in 2020/21 Neto has endured a stop-start journey in English football.

While his talent is undeniable questions linger over his long-term availability with the current season seeing him sidelined once again due to recurring hamstring issues.

With Neto ruled out of Wolves’ upcoming clash against Arsenal, the Gunners may have to reassess their summer transfer plans weighing the potential rewards against the significant risks associated with the injury-prone winger.
