Columbus Crew vs Chicago Fire Match Preview

Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire face off at the Lower.com Field this weekend in the MLS. The two sides have made contrasting starts to the season, and the home side will be the favorite going into the match.

The Crew are unbeaten this season and will be confident of keeping that run going. They won their opening game at home 1-0 to Atlanta United and then drew to Minnesota United away from home last week.

Chicago Fire started the season with a draw at Philadelphia Union but lost at home to FC Cincinnati. They will be looking to get their first win of the season, but are going to need a lot of things to go their way to get the win.

Team News

Wilfried Nancy is a lucky coach, as he will be going into the game with a fully fit squad. None of his Columbus Crew players are out injured or carrying any knocks right now.

On the other hand, Frank Klopas has a few issues on his hands with Bryan Dowd out with a leg injury. Javier Casas Jr and Victor Bezerra are also carrying a similar injury and will be sitting out of the match this weekend.

Andrew Gutman has a hamstring issue and will also be unavailable for the away side. It is not all bad news for Klopas, as Carlos Teran is back from his knee surgery, but the match this weekend will be too early for him to hit the pitch.

Predicted Lineups

Columbus Crew will be going into the game with an unchanged XI, as things have gone well for them this season. Wilfriend Nancy is unlikely to make any changes as he has his team set for the time being.

Predicted XI: Patrick Schulte, Steven Moreira, Rudy Camacho, Malte Amundsen, Mohamed Farsi, Aidan Morris, Darlington Nagbe, Yaw Yeboah, Diego Rossi, Alexandru Mățan, Cucho Hernández

Frank Klopas is expected to make one change to his team, with Chase Gasper coming in for Maren Haile-Selassie. Apart from the change at right wing-back, it would be a drastic step to shuffle more.

Predicted XI: Chris Brady, Allan Arigoni, Mauricio Pineda, Rafael Czichos, Chase Gasper, Gastón Giménez, Kellyn Acosta, Maren Haile-Selassie, Xherdan Shaqiri, Brian Gutierrez, Hugo Cuypers
