Inter Miami vs Montreal Preview:
Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are set to host Montreal at Chase Stadium in the MLS. Miami has started the season well, winning two out their first three games. The club owned by David Beckham has accumulated seven points in the league so far and also had a fine opening in the CONCACAF Champions Cup as well. With the likes of Sergio Busquets, Leo Messi, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez arriving at the club over the last year, Miami have now set their eyes on winning the MLS this season. However, it will be a task easier said than done with the growing quality of MLS across the league.
On the other end of the spectrum are CF Montreal. The Canadian club earned themselves a hard fought 2-1 win against FC Dallas last weekend which was an improvement from the week prior where they only managed to salvage a draw against Orlando City. After a disappointing season last year, Montreal will be looking forward to moving up the table this campaign. In order to support their aspirations, the club has made several signings to re-enforce the squad. Ex-Inter Miami man Josef Martinez arrived on a free transfer at the club in February as did Sebastian Breza from Bologna.
Inter Miami vs Montreal Team News:
Inter Miami:
Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami looks completely transformed from last season. The squad looks refreshed after the long break and has been threatening. Their statement 5-0 win against last year’s top side Orlando City earlier last week showed their determination to go a long way this season. However, injuries have already marred the club’s season.
Against Montreal, Miami will be without the services of left-winger Robbie Robinson. His knee injury continues to sideline him till April. Youngster Benjamin Cremaschi suffered a blow as he was detected with hernia prior to the start of the campaign. He is likely to undergo surgery now and won’t be available till late April. Ian Fray, Franco Negri and Facundo Farias continue to recover from their long-term injuries on the sidelines. They are unlikely to return anytime soon.
Barcelona legendary left back Jordi Alba arrived at the club recently and has already rekindled the iconic duo of Alba-Messi. However, the Spaniard missed Miami’s midweek CONCACAF tie against Nashville with a strong flu. Inter Miami will hope he returns for the tie against Montreal. Even Leo Messi had an injury scare post the match against Nashville but is unlikely to miss the tie at Chase Stadium.

Montreal:
While Montreal has strengthened their side for their 2024 campaign in the MLS, the club from Quebec is already dealing with a long injury list. Center back Robert Orri Throkelsson sustained an injury on 2nd March and will miss the game at Chase stadium. Striker Matias Coccaro started for Montreal against FC Dallas last week but sustained an injury in the game. He won’t travel with the squad to Miami. Montreal will also arrive in Miami without the services of Joaquin Sosa, Dominik Yankov and Kwado Opoku. All of them are currently recovering from their respective injuries on the sidelines and are likely to return by the end of next week.

Inter Miami possesses an armory with some of the strongest weapons in the world.
