Top 10 Most Valuable Clubs: Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich part of elite list

Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich have featured in an elite list of the top 10 most valuable clubs in world football.

In a report by Forbes, Los Blancos top the list, City are in fifth, while Bayern are in sixth place on the list. Having achieved major successes in recent years, it is no surprise to see these three clubs on the list. That said, letโ€™s take a look at the remaining clubs.

10 Most Valuable Clubs in world football

As mentioned earlier, Forbes released a list of 10 clubs that have the highest net worth in world football. It is no surprise that all the teams are European, with six English clubs, two Spanish clubs, one German club and one French club.

Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona have been among the top football clubs for decades now. With success both domestically and internationally, the clubs have huge worldwide fanbases.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City mark a new style of football ownership. Cash-rich owners have pumped money into the sport with remarkable results as the two clubs have dominated domestically and internationally.

Meanwhile, six of the top 10 most valuable clubs are from the Premier League, highlighting the financial muscle the league possesses in comparison to its counterparts.

Other notable clubs in the top 30

Just outside the top 10 most valuable clubs are three European giants with great footballing history. Juventus are 11th ($2.10b), Borussia Dortmund are 12th ($1.93b) and Atletico Madrid are 13th ($1.54b).

There are five more Premier League clubs between ranks 11-30, making it 40% of the top 30 overall. West Ham United are 15th ($1.08b), Crystal Palace are 20th ($806m), Newcastle United are 22nd ($794m), Aston Villa are 24th (($756m) and Everton are 25th ($744m).

While 23 of the 30 clubs play in Europe, the MLS makes up for 23% of the list with seven teams in the top 30. LAFC are ranked highest at 17th ($1b), followed by city rivals LA Galaxy in 18th (($925m).

Atlanta United are 19th ($850m), New York City FC are 21st ($800m), while DC United ($700m), Toronto FC ($690m) and Austin FC ($680m) occupy the last three spots in the top 30.

The English Championship has by far the lowest representation with Leicester City ranked a respectable 23rd ($781m).
