Alaves and Rayo Vallecano lock horns at the Mendizorrotza Stadium on Sunday in La Liga, as both sides aim to return to winning ways. 

In their last game, Alaves were beaten 1-0 by Osasuna as Ante Budimir’s 76th-minute strike condemned the Basque Country outfit to their 12th top-flight loss of the season. It left them languishing in 13th position of the league standings with 29 points from 27 games.

Meanwhile, Rayo Vallecano are still three points worse off in the 16th as the side continues to edge closer to relegation. The Red Sashes haven’t won a top-flight match since beating Getafe in their first game of 2024, a run that now stands at eight games.
