Indian Premier League (IPL) is just two days away. The fans are boiling up with excitement for the mega cricketing event in India. Over the years it has given rise to many superstars who have later on made it to the national team and made a name for themselves in their respective categories. However, some of them have even vanished liked they never existed.

They are the five-time winners of this tournament alongside their arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But the Men in Blue have not had the best season in the last couple of years. They finished at the bottom last edition with only four wins.

10. MI vs RR| MI 214/4 vs RR| 2023

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal made it count on his domestic home ground at Wankhede, the Southpaw played a knock of 124 runs off 62 deliveries. The youngster looked in deft touch but except for him no batter could cross the score of 20 runs and there was a batting collapse. However, the Royals made sure to score past the 200-run mark. They posted a target of 213 runs.

Coming out to chase Mumbai Indians (MI) lost their skipper Rohit Sharma early. But then fiery knocks from Cameroon Green and Suryakumar Yadav, as the latter scored 55 off 29 balls. Then Tim David’s 45 off 19 balls made sure Mumbai’s chase became easy. They finished off the run chase with three balls left scoring 214/4 and winning the game.

9. MI vs PBKS| MI 216/4 vs PBKS| 2023

PBKS after being invited to bat first did not have the best start. They lost their openers quickly. But then an amazing 82-run innings from Liam Livingstone gave them stability in the middle overs and Jitesh Sharma’s 49 off 27 balls, helped them to score past 200 runs. They finished off the innings with 216/4. This was the massive score to chase down.

Mumbai Indians once again were found struggling with their captain Rohit Sharma went back without scoring. But Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav had other ideas. They stitched a 116-run partnership for the third wicket. The Southpaw played a knock of 75 off 41 and SKY scored 66 off 31 laying the foundation for the run chase and the two quick knocks from Tim David and Tilak Varma helped them score 216/4 and win the game.

8. MI vs GT | MI 218/5 vs GT| 2023

Mumbai Indians after being invited to bat first, were off to a flying start with 60 for no loss however, the two quick wickets of the openers shifted them to the back foot. But Suryakumar Yadav once again stepped in for the side and scored a brilliant century. He scored 103 off 49 balls and helped Mumbai to post a massive total of 218/5.

Gujarat Titans while chasing were never in the game. They lost half of their side for just 55 runs. The Titans were 103/8, but then a storm of Rashid Khan came their way. The Afghanistan bowling all-rounder made sure the game was exciting and tried to get as close as possible. Without losing a wicket from there the side could only get 191/8 as Rashid scored 79* off 32 balls.

Mumbai Indians were invited to bat first and Sachin Tendulkar the captain was in sensational form in 2010. The side was off to a flying start despite losing Sanath Jayasuriya early. Tendulkar was blazing through Delhi Daredevil’s bowling lineup. He scored 63 off 32. Along with Saurabh Tiwary, who also played a knock of 61 off 37 balls. This helped them score 218/7.

Delhi while chasing had a decent start. But they could not keep up the momentum, as they lost wickets at regular intervals. They were bowled out for just 120 runs as no batter could cross the 30-run mark in the game. Resulting in a 98-run win for the Mumbai Indians. Sachin Tendulkar was named as the Player of the Match for his amazing innings.

Chennai Super Kings after being invited to bat first. Lost Ruturaj Gaikwad early, but later on Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali stitched a partnership of 108 runs. Both batters scored half-centuries respectively. The Proteas opener scored 50 off 28 and the English all-rounder scored 58 off 36. Helping the Yellow Army post a total of 218/4.

Mumbai Indians were off to a decent start. They lost two quick wickets of Rohit Sharma and SKY in the span of just one over. However, Kieron Pollard, the big West Indian stepped in between CSK and the run chase. He played a blistering knock of 87 off 34 deliveries leading MI to a brilliant run chase. Mumbai won the match in the final ball of the game.

5. MI vs Kings XI Punjab | MI 223/6 vs KXIP| 2017

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) (now Punjab Kings (PBKS)) was invited to bat first. They were off to a flying start with openers Wriddhiman Saha and Martin Guptill they were 68/1 before the powerplay. The Bengal wicket-keeper batter scored 93 off 55 deliveries. Along with the fiery 47 off 21 from Glenn Maxwell, the Kings scored 230/3.

In reply, Mumbai Indians openers were also blazing through as 100 was up before the halfway mark. Lendl Simmons was the aggressor with 59 off 32 balls and then the firepower of Pollard and Hardik Pandya helped them in the run chase, till the final ball of the match. Pollard scored 50 off 24 balls and Hardik played a quick knock of 30 from 13 balls, but they fell short of just 7 runs and lost the match.

Mumbai Indians were invited to bat first. The openers Rohit and Ishan Kishan were off to a flying start. They were 80/1 in just 7 overs. SKY and Tilak Varma stumbled, but the innings were taken over by the two middle-order batters, Tim David and Romario Shepherd. The latter played a knock of 39 off 10 balls and scored 32 runs off the last over of Anrich Nortje helping them post one of MI highest scores in IPL.

Delhi Capitals while chasing had a fiery start, but they kept on losing wickets. Tristan Stubbs and Prithvi Shaw scored half-centuries respectively, but it was not enough to chase down the target of 326. The South African scored 71 off 25 balls and Shaw played a knock of 66 runs. They fell short of just 30 runs from the target.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first. Ishan Kishan led the charge of the aggressor and scored runs quickly. He played a knock of 84 runs off 32 deliveries. Then came a SKY special once again for MI. He yet again scored 82 off 40 balls and helped the Blue Army go past the 200-run mark. They scored 235/9 which is MI’s third-highest score in IPL.

While chasing SRH was off to a flyer but the run pressure kept falling off wickets at regular intervals. The Orange Army fell short of the run chase. Only Manish Pandey was the batter who could score a fifty. The batter scored 69 runs and helped them to get to 193/8 in their 20 overs. Ishan Kishan was named the man of the match. Sunrisers Hyderabad was invited to bat first. Travis Head along with Abhishek Sharma was bullying the Mumbai Indians bowlers. They were striking all over the ground. The two batters scored fifty in a little quick time, the Aussie opener scored 62 off 24 deliveries and the latter scored 63 of 23 balls. But the storm of Heinrich Klassen left the Mumbai bowlers awestruck. The Proteas wicket-keeper batter scored 80 off 34 scoring 277/3.

Mumbai coming out chase were also firering from the first ball. But achieving such a mammoth total was nearly impossible. They tried their best to go as close as possible. Only Tilak Varma scored a fifty, the Southpaw scored 64 off 34 and helped them score 246/5 in their 20 overs. But it was a high-scoring thriller and the fans enjoyed every bit of the game. MI highest score in IPL came in a losing cause. Delhi Capitals after being invited to bat first were off to an amazing start. Jake Fraser McGurk who played a blistering knock of 84 off 27 balls led the side cross 100 runs mark before 10 overs. Then quick impactful innings from Tristian Stubbs and Shai Hope helped the side post a mammoth total of 257/4.

Mumbai coming out to chase lost Rohit Sharma early. But Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya kept the side in the game. The Southpaw scored 63 off 32 balls and Pandya scored 46 off 24 balls. Mumbai Indians fell short of just 10 runs their highest-ever total has come in a losing way. MI highest score in IPL is 247/9. McGurk was the Player of the Match for his sensational innings.
