Fantasy Premier League GW 29: Key Injury Updates and Team News

All eyes of the football world will turn to the Premier League once again this weekend as matchday 29 looms large on the players. 16 clubs will be seen in action this weekend. Liverpool and Newcastle United will contest the EFL Cup final, while Aston Villa and Crystal Palace will not be playing any games this weekend. In light of this situation, here is a comprehensive analysis of the fitness and availability status of the Premier League clubs ahead of matchday 29.

Arsenal

Inconsistencies have been the only constant in the Arsenal dressing room this season. The Gunners followed their 7-1 thrashing of PSV Eindhoven with a 1-1 draw against an underwhelming Manchester United side. Arsenal will now face city rivals Chelsea in the Premier League without Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, and Takehiro Tomiyasu. Jesus, Havertz, and Tomiyasu are ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Bournemouth

Adam Smith, Julian Araujo, Marcos Senesi, and Enes Unal are all injured and ruled out for the Cherries ahead of matchday 29. Illia Zabarnyi will also not be able to take part owing to a suspension. Bournemouth will certainly be confident to get a favourable result against Brentford.

Brentford

Brentford will have to negate the threat of Bournemouth away without the services of Aaron Hickey (hamstring injury), Gustavo Gomes (back injury), Thiago Rodrigues (virus), Joshua Dasilva (injured), Sepp van den Berg (knee injury), and Rico Henry (hamstring injury).

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton & Hove Albion is on a tremendous seven-game winning run currently, five of which have come in the league. Consequently, the players will be confident heading into the Etihad Stadium to take on the defending champions. The Seagulls currently have one of the longest injury lists in English football. Coach Fabian Hurzeler will not be able to select Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor Julio, James Milner, Jason Steele, Joel Veltman, Lewis Dunk, and Matthew O’Riley ahead of matchday 29.

Chelsea

Enzo Maresca and his men will have to take on the daunting challenge of facing Arsenal without the services of Gabriel Slonina, David Datro Fofana, Marc Guiu, Nicolas Jackson, Malo Gusto, and Noni Madeuke. A win will be essential for Chelsea to stay ahead of Manchester City in the race for the last Champions League spot.

Everton

Everton is currently on an eight-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League and will host West Ham United next. Armando Broja (Leg Injury), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Hamstring Injury), Dwight McNeil (Knee Injury), Iliman Ndiaye (Knee Injury), and Orel Mangala (Cruciate Ligament Injury) have been on the injury list for the Toffees for several weeks now.

Fulham

Fulham will need to gather some important victories in the upcoming matches to keep the club’s position in the top half of the table: Sasa Lukic (Suspended), Harry Wilson (Foot Injury). Kenny Tete (Knee Injury), Adama Traore (Ankle Injury), and Reiss Nelson (Hamstring Injury) will be absent for Fulham on matchday 29.

Ipswich Town

Chiedozie Ogbene, Conor Chaplin, Axel Tuanzebe, and Wes Burns will not be available for selection at the disposal of Ipswich’s head coach, Kieran McKenna.

Leicester City

Relegation is looking like a very likely prospect for Leicester City this season. The Foxes will participate in a contest against Manchester United next, but Harry Souttar (Ankle Injury), Abdul Fatawu (Cruciate Ligament Injury), and Odsonne Edouard will not be a part of the fixture.

Manchester City

The defending champions faced yet another defeat in the Premier League last week against Nottingham Forest. John Stones (Thigh Injury), Manuel Akanji (Muscle Injury), Nathan Ake, Oscar Bobb (Broken Leg), and Rodri (Cruciate Ligament Injury) will not be available for Manchester City on matchday 29. These four players have been on the sidelines for a long time now and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

Manchester United

Altay Bayindir, Amad Diallo, Jonny Evans, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Harry Maguire will not be able to participate due to their injury issues. Youngster Patrick Dorgu will also miss out due to the red card he received against Ipswich Town two weeks ago.

Nottingham Forest

Carlos Miguel will be the only absentee for Nottingham Forest on matchday 29. The goalkeeper is suffering from a hamstring injury and is scheduled to return by next week.

Southampton

James Bree (Hamstring Injury), Ross Stewart (Calf Injury), Ryan Fraser (Physical Discomfort), and Jan Bednarek (Concussion), will not be able to contribute their services for Southampton against Wolves on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur will travel to the Craven Cottage to take on Fulham, but before that, an all-important encounter against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League awaits Spurs. Ange Postecoglou will prefer to name his strongest XI against Alkmaar, which might lead him to name a second-choice XI against Fulham. Nonetheless, Ben Davies, Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin, and Richarlison will not be available on matchday 29.

West Ham

Crysencio Summerville, Lucas Paqueta, Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug, and Vladimir Coufal remain on the sidelines for the Hammers.

Wolves

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira will feel a sense of frustration in light of the recurring injury woes at the club. He will have to select his best XI without the services of Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic, Leon Chiwome, Goncalo Guedes, and Yerson Mosquera. Key player Matheus Cunha, who has been the goalscoring force, will also not be able to contribute his services as he will serve a suspension.
