Bournemouth vs Sheffield United Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips

Bournemouth vs Sheffield United Preview

Bournemouth vs Sheffield United in the Premier League will take place on March 9 as the 13th placed team gears up to host the 20th placed side.

The Cherries enter this game having snapped out of a six-game winless streak. They defeated Burnley 2-0 away from home in the league in a composed performance in their last game. However, they lost three and drew three of the six games prior to that, scoring just five goals in that dismal run. Their win against Burnley also marked the first time Bournemouth kept a clean sheet since their 5-0 drubbing of Swansea in January. They will look to keep the positive momentum going.

The Blades, on the other hand, are heading towards another quick return to the EFL Championship. They are currently 11 points from safety and have six of their last seven games. In that spell, Sheffield have conceded a whopping 26 goals across seven games, scoring just seven goals. They were hammered 6-0 by Arsenal at Bramall Lane in their last game in a hapless performance. With little hope of staying in the Premier League, the Blades will hope to do their best in the remaining games.

That said, let’s take a look at the team news from both camps ahead of this fixture.

Manager Andoni Iraola will have quite a few injuries to deal with ahead of the next game, but no suspensions. Ryan Fredericks (calf) and Tyler Adams (hamstring) have been out long-term and seem unlikely to return before the end of the season.

Lloyd Kelly, Max Aarons and James Hill have also been out for a considerable amount of time and missed the win against Burnley. Meanwhile, defender Marcos Senesi suffered an injury in that game at Turf Moor and will likely be out for a few weeks.

Sheffield United

Manager Chris Wilder has had a rather tough season with a lengthy injury list making team selection a headache. Centre-backs Chris Basham (leg) and John Egan (foot) have been out for a few months now and seem unlikely to return before the end of the season.

Max Lowe, Rhys Norrington-Davies, and Cameron Archer will also miss the next game through injury. Meanwhile, Mason Holgate will serve his third and last game of suspension after a red card. He will be available for selection from the next round onwards.
