Liverpool Targeting New Cb in Summer to Replace Virgil Van Dijk

Premier League side Liverpool are monitoring transfer options for the potential replacement of their captain Virgil Van Dijk in the summer, as current contract runs out at the end of the 2024/25 season. The Dutch centre back has been a key player for the Reds ever since he joined them back in 2018 and still plays an important role in Arne Slot’s defense.

Currently, Van Dijk is the second highest paid player only behind Mohamed Salah earning 11 million euros. However, due to his age, Liverpool are considering finding new talents to replace him with a young player.

According to Caught Offside, Slot and Liverpool are interested in the talented Greek defender Konstantinos Koulierakis, who plays for Wolfsburg.

The 21-year-old, Konstantinos, has impressed the English clubs who are searching to reinforce their defense, having played 25 times for his German club in this season across all competitions. Additionally, other English clubs like Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are also closely monitoring the Bundesliga defender for a summer move.
