The English wicket-keeper batter scored his fastest 100s in ODI in the 50-over format back in 2015 against Pakistan. He achieved the milestone in just 46 balls and became the fastest English batter to score a hundred in an ODI. He scored 116 against Pakistan at Dubai’s DSC.

9. Jesse Ryder (New Zealand)

8. Shahid Afridi (Pakistan)

Shahid Afridi is one of the finest all-rounders for Pakistan and world cricket. Despite starting his career as an opener for the Men in Green, he later on shifted to the middle order for the side. He was known for his explosive finishing ability and huge hits. Afridi tops the list for most sixes in ODI cricket by any batter in world cricket. He was not only an excellent finisher but also a sensational legspinner. Afridi ranks third with the most wickets by a Pakistani bowler.

He achieved the remarkable feat by scoring a century in just 45 balls, against India back in 2015. This was his second-fastest ton in the 50-over format. 7. Brian Lara (West Indies)

Brian Lara was one of the most stylish batters of all time. The fans were mesmerised by his elegance and strokeplay. Lara is the only captain for West Indies to win the ICC 50-over format Trophy. He led the side to the ICC Champions Trophy in 2004. Since then the side has not won any trophies in the ODI format of the game. 6. Mark Boucher (South Africa)

Mark Boucher was a sensational wicket-keeper of his generation. The former Proteas has the record for the most dismissals across all formats of the game. He has 998 dismissals to his name, with 952 catches and 46 stumpings. This showcases his amazing wicket-keeping techniques. Not only he was a brilliant keeper but he was also an excellent middle-order batter.

Boucher was a hard hitter of the ball in the middle overs and the business end of the innings. This is the reason he has the record for the 6th fastest hundred in ODI cricket. He scored his hundred in just 44 deliveries and remained not out with a score of 147 in the game against Zimbabwe back in 2009 at the Senwes Park Stadium.

5. Asif Khan (UAE)

Asif Khan is the UAE batter who was born in Pakistan and played for Lahore in 32 first-class matches. Then he shifted to the UAE in 2017 to play international cricket and played for the national team from 2022. The batter does not have a long career like other batters he has featured in just 26 ODIs for the associate nation.

The batter is the only one from an associate nation on the list for the fastest hundred ODI. He scored in 41 balls against Nepal, this was his maiden hundred as well. It remains the fastest by a player from an associate nation in ODI cricket. He played a knock of 101 runs. So far in his career, he has scored three hundred and five fifties.

4. Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell is one of the aggressive batters of this era. He entertains the fans with his unconventional stroke play and has always lit up the stadium with some brilliant hitting. He has been a game-changer for Australia for years in the whiteball format. The middle-order batter’s best innings came in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan where he scored 201 runs in just 128 balls and single-handedly won the match for the Aussies when they were 91/7 chasing a total of 292 runs.

His fastest century also came in the same tournament against the Netherlands. Scoring a century in just 40 balls. It is also the World Cup’s fastest century. He scored 106 runs with 44 balls. Maxwell has been dropped from the ODI format despite being in good form.

3. Shahid Afridi (Pakistan)

Shahi Afridi is one of Pakistan’s greatest cricketers of all time. His ability with the bat and ball for the side was crucial in the white ball format of the game. Fans know him for his aggressive batting style. But he was also the joint-highest wicket-taker in the 2011 World Cup, despite not being a regular out-and-out bowler. Shahid Afridi was the first batter to score the fastest hundred in ODI cricket. He held the record for many years but it was then broken in 2014 for the first time. Afridi scored a hundred in just 37 balls against Sri Lanka back in 1996. He scored 102 runs against the Lankan Lions.

2. Corey Anderson (New Zealand)

Corey Anderson one of the fiercest batter in his prime. He was a match-winner for the Kiwis in the white ball format of the game. But due to lack of consistency he was dropped from the side and later on shifted to the USA to continue his international cricket career. He became the youngest New Zealand player to gain a contract at the age of 16.

Anderson made history in ODI cricket by scoring one of the fastest centuries in only 36 balls. In 2014 he surpassed Shahid Afridi’s 15-year-old record for the fastest century. He scored 131 runs against the West Indies. But it did not stay for many years it was broken a year later.

1. AB de Villiers (South Africa)

AB de Villiers, known as ‘Mr.360’ of cricket was a sensational batter across formats. He was named so because of his ability to play shots all around the ground and his unorthodox style of play. He dominated the white ball cricket like no one during his prime time. In his ODI career, he scored 9577 runs at an average of 53.51, including 25 centuries and 53 half-centuries.

He made the century against West Indies in 2015. He played a knock of 149 runs, hitting 16 sixes which was then the most by any batter at that time in an innings.
