Rajat Patidar who has recently been announced as the captain of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is an Indian International Cricket Player. He was born on 1st June 1993 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He is a Right right-handed batsman and part-time Off-break Bowler. He is a middle-order Batsman. In the last two seasons Of IPL, he performed well for the franchise which is why he has been given a leadership role for IPL 2025.
Rajat Patidar started his cricketing journey when he was only 8 years old. Later his grandfather enrolled in a cricket academy. In the earlier days of his cricketing career, he was a bowler but after U-15 level he started focusing on his batting skills. He made his first-class debut on 30th October 2015 in 2015-16 Ranji Trophy season.
Rajat comes from a very humble family background. His father’s name is Manohar Patidar, and he is a Businessman. He always encouraged his son to pursue cricket.

Rajat Partidar started his cricketing career with his debut in the Ranji Trophy for Madhya Pradesh in 2015, he also made his T20 debut for Madhya Pradesh in the Zonal T20 League in 2018. In the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy, Rajat Patidar was the Leading Run scorer for Madhya Pradesh with 713 runs in 8 matches. In 2019 he was named in the India Blue’s squad for the Duleep Trophy.

In 2021, Rajat Patidar was bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Formerly known as Royal Challengers Banglore) for 20 lakhs INR. He didn’t perform well in that season and was eventually released from the Squad before the 2022 auction. Rajat Patidar went unsold in the IPL auction of 2022 However, he was signed by RCB again as a mid-season replacement for an injured player named Luvnith Sisodia.
Rajat Patidar Played a career-defining inning of his life as he scored a century in the eliminator of IPL 2022 for RCB against LSG and won the game for RCB. He was retained by RCB for IPL 2023 also he was among the three retentions made by RCB. Also, Rajat Patidar was Appointed as the Captain of RCB for IPL 2025.
