Shakhtar CEO has the perfect advice for Chelsea to get the best out of “most talented” Mykhailo Mudryk

Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergiy Palkin has urged Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to spend more time with Mykhailo Mudryk. He believes that the Ukrainian talent needs one-on-one sessions to improve and get to the levels he was touted for before moving to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Palkin claimed that Mudryk is the most talented player in the world. He added that the 23-year-old is a unique player who needs time invested in him to get going on the pitch.

He said:

“I can tell you that, for me, Mudryk is the most talented and unique player in the world. I believe that in order to get the maximum from Mudryk, as they anticipate, you need to invest in him. And these investments are not money. The investment is time with the coaching staff to communicate with him and to work closely with him.”

Palkin went on to add that the switch from Ukraine to England has been a big step for the youngster and needs more attention from the coaching staff at Chelsea. He guarantees that the former Arsenal target will repay their faith and added:

“He is a young boy and he changed from the Ukrainian Championship for the English Premier League. It’s a completely different world, with completely different levels, with football that’s completely different. I believe that if the coaching staff dedicates some time to him, he will return three, four or five times more.”

Chelsea signed Mudryk for a reported £89 million, including add-ons, and has not done enough to seal a place in the starting XI. The winger has scored 12 goals and assisted 17 times in his 44 matches for the club.

His most significant contribution this season was the goal against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup, which helped the Blues seal a 1-1 draw. They went on to win the game in the penalty shootout but ended up losing the final 1-0 to Liverpool.

Bayern Munich were interested in signing Mudryk on loan in the winter window, but the winger rejected the move. Chelsea were also not interested in letting him leave as Pochettino sees a lot of potential in the youngster.
