Official: Spurs secures Bayern’s Munich’s Mathys Tel on short term deal
Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur have successfully signed Bayern Munich’s highly rated winger Mathys Tel on a six-month loan deal until the end of the 2024/25 season. He will don the number 11 shirt for the North London club for the rest of the campaign and the 19-year-old was linked to Arsenal.
However, on the winter transfer deadline day, Spurs and the Bavarians managed to reach an agreement over a loan move, including an option for the English side to sign the Frenchman permanently in the summer. Reportedly, the permanent buy clause is worth around £45.7 million with the agreed six-year term contract.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich, subject to international clearance and work permit.” Spurs stated on their website while announcing Mathys Tel’s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The statement added, “The France Under-21 international will join the Club on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season with an option to make the move permanent in the summer. He will wear the number 11 shirt.”
