Chelsea’s 21-year-old midfielder joins Borussia Dortmund on loan transfer

The Bundesliga giants, Borussia Dortmund have agreed to sign the 21-year-old midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka from Premier League club Chelsea on a six-month loan spell until the end of the 2024/25 season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the former England U-21 is set to undergo his medical with Dortmund on Monday, while his full salary is covered in the deal and the German club has paid loan the loan fee. The move includes a buy option in the summer values above the £40 million price tag.

Chukwuemeka has struggled to secure regular minutes with the Blues having only made 5 appearances in UEFA Conference League and FA Cup. He wasn’t included in Chelsea’s Premier League squad in the 2024/25 campaign.
