Bologna 2-1 Dortmund Player Ratings: La Grassa shock Dortmund as they grab three in an exciting Champions League clash

First ever win for Bologna in the UEFA Champions League and what a way to get it. They scored two goals in 2 minutes to seal a dramatic 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at home.

Guirassy opened the scoring in the match from the spot with a cheeky panenka, but it was almost saved by Lukasz Skorupski. However, Thijs Dallinga Samuel and Iling Junior scored twice in two minutes to turn things around in the second half of the match.

Lukasz Skorupski – 6: Has to make just one save today and almost kept the penalty out as well. He got his hand to the ball, but the touch was not enough to keep it out.

Emil Holm – 7: Gave away the silly penalty in the first half that helped Dortmund take the lead. Did well to redeem himself in the second half.

Sam Beukema – 7: He was rock solid at the back and never looked like he was going to have a tough time on the pitch today.

Jhon Lucumi – 6: Got booked just before the hour mark and was taken off immediately as they did not want to go down to 10 men. He was rash with his challenges but only committed one bad foul.

Charalampos Lykogiannis – 8: Played the full match and was brilliant on the left flank. He was up and down the pitch and looked like a threat every time he ran up front.

Midfielders

Remo Freuler – 6: Not his best game and was hooked off at halftime after he picked up a booking early in the game after Bologna had their penalty shouts denied.

Tommaso Pobega – 7: Was having a tough time on the pitch but did well in the second half. He also had a wild attempt at goal but it was from miles off, and Kobel saved it.

Riccardo Orsolini – 7: He was Bologna’s best player in the opening 30 minutes but had to be taken off due to an injury. He was a threat to the BVB goal and looked like he was hungry for a goal or two.

Lewis Ferguson – 7: Decent game after midfielder as he stayed back and helped out on the right side of the midfield. Got booked late in the game after a dramatic fall from a BVB player.

Dan Ndoye – 7.5: He was hungry for a goal today but failed to get on the scoresheet or get an assist. Came close in the final minutes, but his shot was wide of the far post.

Santiago Castro – 7: He was dropping deep and helping out in creating the chances but never came close to scoring today.

Gross – 6.5: Stayed back and defended well and cannot be blamed for both goals. He was taken off right after the goals as they looked to counter.

Waldemar Anton – 6: Was having a good game but made two mistakes, and it led to the two goals from Bologna.

Nico Schlotterbeck – 5: He was poor from start to finish. Never looked comfortable and could have easily prevented both goals.

Ryerson – 6: He was up and down the left flank but never managed to get near the box. He was caught in no man’s land on a lot of occasions.

Midfielders

Max Beier – 5.5: Nothing he could do in the whole game and was isolated most of the time. He finished with just 27 touches and never influenced the game.

Felix Nmecha – 6: He is the only Dortmund star who managed to sit back and defend today. Bologna found it hard to deal with him but he got no help.

Gio Reyna – 6: He was running up and down the whole match but never managed to do anything significant. He was taken off after an hour as Dortmund needed someone to create things in attack.

Julien Duranville – 5.5: He played for over an hour and was missing the whole time. He completed 3 passes and did not get a single shot away.
