Barcelona staged an outstanding comeback at the Estadio da Luz in the Champions League on Tuesday to defeat Benfica 4-5 after a crucial last-moment goal from Raphinha. Benfica needed a desperate win in the competition to secure a place in the top eight.
For Benfica things were good as they were leading in the game till the 85th-minute courtesy of a hattrick from Evangelos Pavlidis and an own goal from Ronald Araujo. Barcelona were not much behind their rivals as they were trailing 4-2 after Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha scored one in the 64th minute. The game changed thereafter as Barcelona put their feet on the accelerator and kept on attacking. In the 78th minute Lewandowski completed his brace and Eric Garcia in the 86th minute levelled the score.
During the stoppage time, Raphinha chased one of the cleared balls from Ferran Torres and caught the Benfica defenders out of position. In the move, he scored the winner to help Barcelona strengthen their position in the top half of the competition.
